2018-line-up
The Music Barn
The Meadow

Hailing from Northamptonshire the band include Ross Alexander on Vocals, Acoustic Guitar, Mandolin, Ukulele, Electric Guitar, Piano; Max Mclean on Electric Guitar; Neil Bennet on Drums & Percussion and Jamie Gilbert on Bass.

Josh Wylie
24 year old Josh is new to the Music Barn this year and will be playing on the Main Stage in the Meadow. We love his lilting folky tracks where he brings in a wide range of influences from the likes Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole through to accoustic pop stars such as Ed Sheeran, Razorlight, Xavier Rudd, and Mumford & Sons. He released his debut EP 'Visceral Butterflies' on iTunes and Spotify in July 2017.
The Ouse Valley Singles Club
If you are not familiar with The Ouse Valley Singles Club or have yet to catch their live show then you are in for a treat. They are one of, if not the, most original outfits currently playing the live circuit. Influenced by the long forgotten sounds & traditions of 1950’s Skiffle (Google it) they combine this sound with the energy of Punk and the swing of Rock and Roll, whilst occasionally dropping some Reggae flavour into the mix. Then layering this with hilarious Folk-like story-telling, often crossing the parameters of what is deemed to be politically correct but keeping it very tongue in cheek. In doing this, they have created a truly original & highly entertaining sound that has been dubbed “New Wave Skiffle” and they have been described as ‘George Formby meets The Clash’ where Vaudeville music Hall meets Working Men’s club.
The Orange Clocks
Orange Clocks hail from a shed in the depths of East Northamptonshire and specialize in music of no fixed genre; improvising and jamming for long periods, pausing only to consume lots of tea and biscuits. They have been in their current incarnation for a little over two years, although the seven band members have played together in different musical incarnations for many hazy years, united by a love of psychedelic and hypnotic music (amongst other things). Must be seen to be believed!
The Smarties return to perform in the Meadow at the Music Barn in 2018. The band were formed in the Northamptonshire area in 2010 and have performed all over the UK, bringing their hi-octane rock music to new audiences up and down the country. A very popular three piece band , they play a wide range of tracks from across the decades covering a number of genres including rock, blues, indie and pop. Expect lively, high energy on stage performance coupled with full on sing along track selection.
Sarpa Salpa
Hailing from Northampton, Sarpa Salpa were formed in 2016 and bring together a heady mix of punchy guitar based riffs with heavy synths and powerful melodies. Sarpa Salpa released their debut single "Across The Water" in April 2017 following a sold out show at The Lamplighter (Northampton). This led to a spring of shows across the summer supporting the likes of FLYTE, Riscas, Jesus Jones & The Scruff across the midlands. Following the summer dates the group returned to the studio to record follow up single "She Never Lies" released on 11/11/17, celebrated with a sold out launch at The Roadmender (Northampton).
Soul Intention
Soul Intention is a 9-piece sixties soul band based in Somersham, Cambridgeshire, UK. The line-up consists of a female lead singer, a rhythm section of drums, bass, guitar and keyboards and a four-piece horn section of trumpet, alto sax, tenor sax and baritone sax that also provides backing vocals.
Expect classic tracks from the 1960s recorded on the Stax and Motown labels together with other songs from the same era that have a similar "soulful intention".
The Toffees
Toffees are a UK based young British rock band formed in 2015. They have toured extensively, winning new audiences everywhere they perform and have been featured on BBC Introducing, including live sessions for BBC Radio. Influences include bands such as The White Stripes, Kasabian and Muse.
In 2017 they played alongside Stereophonics, Jake Bugg, Newton Faulkner, Peter Docherty, Elbow and Rita Ora. Toffees are published and distributed worldwide by Monkey Puzzle House Ltd. Also Well 'Oh' Well has recently been voted Amazing Radios 2017 track of the year!
